We are currently seeking a Senior Molding Engineer.

Description of Activities

• Performs coordination, analysis, execution, and implementation of all Engineering department activities.
• Provides support for corrective actions for CARS generated at the plant.
• Coordinates with Tools the priorities of generated repair, modification, or maintenance requests.
• Coordinates and executes MTRs for the different molds in the plant as needed.
• Optimizes process parameters in molding by improving the mold or machine.
• Sampling of new molds arriving at the company.
• Performs sampling for resin, color, and modification changes, among others.
• Analyzes the DOWNTIME of injection molding machines to reduce it.
• Analyzes the SCRAP of injection molding machines to reduce it.
• Analyzes the efficiency of injection molding machines to optimize them (cycle times).
• Introduces Engineering and/or Manufacturing projects, including automation for quality or process improvement.
• Reviews improvement projects for the Molding/Engineering area.
• Preparation and updating of BOMs.
• Safety.
• Quality.
• Customer Satisfaction.
• Daily review of scrap, downtime, and cycle times.
• Reporting for engineering indicators.
• Updating and creating setup sheets.
• Optimization of molding processes.
• Review of quality criteria.
• Review of weights for molded parts.
• Identification of defects and/or improvements in molds, machines, or peripheral equipment.
• Creation, review, and updating of forms and/or procedures related to manufacturing, molding, and engineering processes.
• Implementation of improvement projects, as well as identification of areas of opportunity in the molding, manufacturing, and engineering processes.
• Follow the safety rules and practices established by Westfall Technik, Tijuana.

Experience & Requirements

• Industrial/Mechanical/Electronic Engineer or similar.
• 3 years of experience in Molding Process Engineering.
• Must have taken courses or training from RJG and have experience in scientific molding.
• Knowledge of Scientific or Decoupled Molding.
• Interpretation of parameter sheets/resin specification sheets.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electricity.
• Interpretation of client drawings.
• Creation and interpretation of control charts (data analysis).
• Knowledge of measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suites.
• Quick response, good communication, decision-making, and proactive.
• Experience with reports on efficiency, downtime, cavitation, open MTR status, client project status, repair plans, improvements, or modifications of molds, machines, or peripheral equipment, Gantt charts, Pareto charts, etc.
• BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH & SPANISH
