JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Tool Maker Trainee-Full Time

Position: Non-Exempt

Location: Westfall UP

Manager: No

Reports to: Finishing Department Manager

SUMMARY OF ROLE

This focus of this department will be to handle all new tooling builds and help with ecn’s and work orders as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Meet scheduled hours and dates of all tasks, with the goal of completing ahead of schedule.
• Maximize efficiency by working to minimize build time of components.
• Maintain an attitude of Continuous Improvement. Make suggestions for improvements.
• Maintain a department that is neat, organized, and clean at all times.
• Goal is a self-sustaining department to meet all requirements of your internal customer at Extreme Tool and Engineering

Specific Responsibilities:

• Carry out tasks for tool building support under the direction of the department lead person.
• Learn mold Fit, Assemble, Complete, and Inspect of injection molds.
• Mold Reviews with Lead toolmaker, Program Manager and Engineering Department personnel as required.
• Assist with problem solving work post sample as req’d.
• All Quality of work to the satisfaction of the internal customer (Program Managers / General Operations Manager) & Extreme Tool and Engineering guidelines
• Make suggestions for Equipment, Software, Training, etc… that would make the department more efficient.
• Responsible for Department Housekeeping, Cleanliness, and Organization as req’d.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS (bullet point or paragraph form)

• Good mechanical aptitude req’d, Organizational Abilities, Must be a Team atmosphere and demonstrate ability to work in a team to accomplish all tasks of the department. Team Environment and communicate effectively as req’d. Ability to learn and follow direction from the department lead.

Training needed:

• Mold building at Extreme Tool.
• Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
