Westfall Technik’s Riverside, CA location is actively recruiting a Summer 2025 Quality Engineering Intern to support a range of technical responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing production environment. The internship provides a college-level student with practical experience related to their major that will enhance and complement classroom learning.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Internship Project Role: Quality Engineer
Dates of Internship: Approximately June 2nd – August 22nd
Location: Riverside, CA
Pay Range: $20.00 per hour
Reports to: Quality Manager
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The ideal candidate will have a desire to broaden their knowledge and practical experience and quality control, quality systems and quality assurance activities. Collaborative work as a member of the quality team must be performed to meet FDA, ISO and local Quality Management System requirements. For this site ISO 9001, BRC packaging issue 6 and FC FSSC/ISO 22000 apply. All documentation produced to meet these standards and the local system requirements must conform to current Good Document Practices (cGDP). Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to assisting the Quality Team in improvements to the local Quality Management System to enhance their system and processes, qualify new production processes, qualify control plans and test methods associated with primary packaging for food and or beverage container closure systems and consumer products. This site is also standardizing their color management system to meet the customer expectation for various colors of their products that may require support.
INTERNSHIP PURPOSE
Partner with Quality Department in data and process analysis in order to help establish process improvements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive Improvements on OEE to increase daily output of consumer product and reduce scrap
Work in teams to solve complex technical problems and support high volume production lines.
Work in teams to identify and implement the best possible solutions and support high volume production lines.
Test benchmark & evaluate the latest technology in plastic processing.
Evaluate current operational process flow and develop & implement changes to optimize flow.
Determines design approaches and parameters.
Evaluate equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and develop improvement plans.
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled in a Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
In 3rd or 4th year of degree specific program or a graduate student
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Light to moderate physical effort required
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly
Required to sit walk or stand
WORK ENVIRONMENT
