We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer with the below qualifications:

Professional Attributes

  • Represents Quality Department on the Material Review Board.
  • Review new and revised customer drawings.
  • Responsible for Part Qualification, including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
  • Establish measurement methodologies.
  • Assist in the development of statistical methods for control of processes.
  • Perform Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers on Quality Assurance matters.
  • Assist in the development of training programs for inspection and production personnel for all quality areas.
  • Develop procedures and work instructions for Quality Assurance.
  • Work with Process Engineering and Program Management on qualifying new tooling, tool modifications, and material and process changes.
  • Coordinate Corrective / Preventive Action.
  • Responsible for Gage R & R.
  • Maintain SPC software (Quality America) by adding new products, updating current products, and performing trend analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Leadership Team on Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Contribution to achieving Westfall Technik Goals
    • By providing the information required for employees to determine the acceptability of products and by understanding and ensuring Westfall Technik meets and exceeds the requirements of our customers, the goals of Westfall Technik are achieved.
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BS degree in a technical discipline. Other education plus experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the plastic injection molding industry with a good understanding of the process.
  • Excellent knowledge of SPC/SQC methods.
  • Ability to calculate dimensional tolerances including derived dimensions by using algebra and trigonometry.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI Y14.5).
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Quality Assurance with a strong background in dimensional measurement.
  • Lean Mfg. experience or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is a plus.
  • Computer literate (word processing, spread sheets, SPC programs, etc.) a minimum.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) experience is a strong plug.
  • ASQ certified Quality Engineer a plus.
  • HACCP certified a plus.
